The Begining of becoming a teen mum
It began on the 2nd of January 2014, taking a pregnancy test that was not only going to change my life but my future. I am a 17 year old teenager who just had been accepted into university. I did not only believe the test was wrong but I had gone down to the shop and brought another test just to make sure it was a 100% correct.
I realised I was definately pregnant. I had 101 thoughts going through my head.
"How am I going to tell my partner?"
"What am I going to tell my family"
Awaiting anxitiously for my partner of 7 years to return from the beach, the car had turned up on the drive way. I was in shock as I walked down the hallway to his mothers house. I said hello , gave him a hug and said " I have something to show you" as I did not know how to explain it and how he would react. I held his hand to his room and on top of his shelves were two pregnancy test showing positive lines. He seen it, his eyes widened but also smiling and replied "Gangster".
The day went on and after his friends had left he sat beside me touching my stomach asking if I was alright and if I was feeling alright. My head was spinning I was excited but also worried as I start to think the next stage how are we going to do this?
Finding out I was pregnant was not only super surprising but having to deal with it was another thing altogether. I am pro life kind of person and found myself not wanting to have an abortion, but wanting to sacrifice everything to give my child the best upbringing.
The day after I found out I gave up smoking, and deemed to not drink or harm my unborn fetus.
Following days were hazy as I was still in shock but decided to cancel my student loan, student allowance and decline on the offer to aut university. I then booked a doctors appointment for a referal for a date scan to find how far along I was.
Wednesday 15, arriving to horizon radiology with my mum I found out I was 5weeks and 6 days pregnant. My baby looked nothing more than a small peanut. But the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It was my baby I felt nothing but love when I looked at the screen.
This is the begining of my pregnancy journey.
